Date: December 10, 2025 Recall type: Voluntary Company: Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health Product: Nutrena Country Feeds Cracked Corn for livestock Species: Livestock (immature animals, wildlife, equines, small ruminants, dairy animals) Reason: Aflatoxin levels exceed FDA action level Distribution: Texas (retail stores)

What Was Recalled

Nutrena Country Feeds Cracked Corn for livestock in 50 lb bags with UPC 217722304334765, manufactured September 12, 2025.

Affected lot numbers: Lot 815255 (Product Code 2407RG95)

Why

Sampling by the Office of the Texas State Chemist revealed the product contained aflatoxins at 35 ppb, exceeding FDA action levels for certain animal categories. Cargill’s retained sample from the same lot contained less than 1 ppb aflatoxins.

Risk

Livestock exposed to elevated aflatoxin levels may experience weight loss, reduced weight gain, reduced feed intake, decreased milk or egg production, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, immune suppression, impaired blood clotting, liver damage, jaundice, and cancerous tumors. Dairy animals can metabolize aflatoxin into milk. No reports of injury or illness have been received.
